Soundwaters Field Trip
It was chilly and quite windy at the beach today, but that didn't stop us. We had so much fun investigating and learning all about life in the Long Island Sound. We rotated through 3 stations. First, we collected shells and sorted them by type. We found the most oyster shells. Then, we used nets to scoop plankton out of the Sound. We viewed them under microscopes and were amazed to see what those teeny specs looked like up close. Last, we learned about animals and got to explore the touch ranks of flounder, sea stars, crabs and more. Here's just a glimpse of some of our fun.
